Leslie is the owner of Active Eating Advice– Be fit, fed, and Fearless? – A nutrition consulting company. Her clients include: The National Dairy Council, California Prune Board, Produce for Better Health Foundation, Bayer USA, and KLEAN athlete. She is the nutrition consultant for the Kansas City Chiefs. She was the sports dietitian for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Blue Jays, the Washington Nationals and the WNBA, University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University department of athletics and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
Leslie also has a private practice where she counsels’ “real” people for nutrition-related concerns such as bone health, gut health, body composition goals, and healthy eating.
She is the author of Sport Nutrition for Coaches and the American Dietetic Association Guide to Better Digestion and co-author of Run Your Butt Off, Walk Your Butt Off, the Active Calorie Diet, and Bike Your Butt Off. She is also a blogger for US News and World Report Eat + Run and appears regularly on local radio and television segments.
She is a former spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has appeared on the Today Show, Dr. Oz, and has been quoted in USA Today, Today.com, NBC.com, among others. She is on the Fitness magazine advisory and also does media training for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics spokespersons program.
Leslie is an adjunct instructor in the school of dental medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and lectures extensively at universities and corporations. A keen area of interest is aging swell, combating myth-information and food bullying, and finding a way to foster inclusivity around the table.
