Many patients worry that their lips will look overdone or distorted when having lip injections. It is important to talk with your provider about the look you would like to achieve. Communication is key between you and your provider so they understand your expectations and the result you desire.
2. Is Your Provider Adequately Trained?
When considering lip injections or any other cosmetic procedure, DO YOUR RESEARCH! It is important to know the qualifications of your injector. Your procedure should be done in an accredited medical spa that is clean and well maintained.
3. Be Comfortable with Your Provider
Your provider should educate you on your procedure and answer any questions you may have prior to beginning your treatment. Feel comfortable asking how many times they have performed the procedure and ask to view previous patient photos. COMMUNICATION IS KEY!

How Long Do Lip Injections Last?
The longevity of your lip fillers depends on several factors:
- type of injection used
- how fast your body metabolizes the products
- how often you animate your lips while speaking
The most successful lip injections are made from hyaluronic acid which include Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Volbella. Depending on the product that your provider uses for lip fillers, your lips will look perfectly plump for approximately 6-9 months.
