Kybella
Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable to be used to destroy fat cells under the chin, also known as submental fullness or a “double chin.” The result is an improved profile and jawline.
How Do I Prepare for My Kybella Treatment?
1. Is Your Provider Adequately Trained?
When considering KYBELLA or any other cosmetic procedure, DO YOUR RESEARCH! It is important to know the qualifications of your injector. Your procedure should be done in an accredited medical spa that is clean and well-maintained.
2. Be Comfortable with Your Provider
Your provider should educate you on your procedure and answer any questions you may have prior to beginning your treatment. Feel comfortable asking how many times they have performed the procedure and ask to view previous patient photos. COMMUNICATION IS KEY!
Know What to Expect:
1. Does it hurt?
Patients may experience some discomfort during the injection and immediately post-treatment. Swelling is the most common side effect and is typically worse in the first few days but can last 2-3 weeks. Prior to the treatment, a topical anesthetic and/or ice packs may be used to minimize any discomfort. After treatment, an icepack may be applied to the treatment area as needed.
2. Are the results immediate?
At your initial consultation, your provider will evaluate your chin and jawline and discuss with you the expectation and goals for treatment. This will also determine the number of treatments needed to reach your goals. A patient may have 1-3 treatments administered under the chin that are spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart.
3. How long does the product last?
Kybella permanently dissolves fat so the results are long-lasting.
