Volbella
What is Volbella?
Volbella is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is FDA approved to add subtle volume and fullness to the lips. It is designed to increase lip definition and soften the appearance of fine lines around the mouth over one year.
How do I prepare for my VOLBELLA treatment?
When considering an injectable treatment or any other cosmetic procedure, you should always do your research. It is important to know the qualifications of your injector, and you should feel comfortable asking them questions about the procedure you are interested in. You may also wish to view photos of previous patients having had the same procedure. Communication is key between you and your provider to achieve the results you desire. Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory products such as Motrin to decrease your risk for bleeding and bruising. You may also want to avoid alcohol and caffeine as these may also contribute to swelling. Arnica can be taken a few days prior to treatment to help minimize any bruising. Your procedure should be done in an accredited medical spa that is clean and well-maintained.
What should I expect during the treatment?
The truth is that everyone has a different threshold of pain. Some patients have no pain at all, while others describe the pain as minimal. The good news is a topical anesthetic and/or ice packs may be applied prior to your procedure helping to minimize any possible discomfort.
When will I see results?
The results with VOLBELLA are visible immediately. Patients may experience mild swelling or bruising to the treatment area post-procedure. This should be resolved within a few days to one week. There is no downtime with this treatment.
How long do the results last?
Results may last up to one year. The longevity can depend on several factors, such as how fast your body metabolizes the product. If you have a higher metabolic rate, the filler may not last as long. Product longevity can also be affected by how often you animate the area that is being treated. Patients should maintain a healthy lifestyle, staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest to allow for optimum results in their area of treatment.
