Dysport
Dysport is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) by reducing specific muscle activity.
How do I prepare for my Dysport treatment?
1. Is your provider adequately trained?
When considering Dysport or any other cosmetic procedure, do your research! It is important to find a skilled injector who is knowledgeable about the different products and what they are best used for. They should be comfortable talking with you about the best choice of product that will help achieve your desired results. Your procedure should be done in an accredited medical spa that is clean and well maintained.
2. Be comfortable with your provider
It is important to discuss your medical history with your provider. Your provider will discuss potential side effects from the injection of Dysport and answer any questions you may have prior to beginning your treatment. You should inform your provider of any previous surgical or non-surgical aesthetic treatments.
Know what to expect:
1. Is the treatment painful?
The truth is that everyone has a different threshold of pain. Some patients have no pain at all, while others describe the pain as minimal. Ice packs may be used prior to treatment to minimize pain at the injection site.
2. Are the results immediate?
Dysport results may take effect in 24-48 hours. Patients may experience local swelling at injections site or bruising to treatment area post procedure. This should be resolved within a few days. There is no downtime with this treatment.
3. How long do the results last?
Dysport may last 3-4 months with continued treatments needed to maintain desired results.
