Spider Veins, Angiomas, Telangiectasias
The Aerolase laser combines the attraction to hemoglobin with strong, quick pulse technology and deep heating of the dermis for excellent treatment results. The face and legs can safely and effectively be treated for spider veins, angiomas and telangiectasias.
The area to be treated is first cleaned with soap and water to remove any makeup or lotion to the site. A medical history and consent form is completed and desired treatment goals are discussed. A complete list of patient recommendations can be found listed under “Laser Aesthetic Medicine”. Photos will be taken of the treatment site for follow up evaluation. Realistic expectations are discussed and a personal treatment plan is designed during your consultation.
The laser treatment begins with a pass to the desired treatment area which allows heat to penetrate deep into the dermis. The Aerolase laser works by creating a thermal reaction. The provider will continue with further focused pulses of the laser wand to the intended treatment area. Vein color is very receptive to the laser light and desired results may occur quickly. There is minimal pain associated with the treatment.
After the laser treatment, patients may have mild redness or swelling to the site that can last for 24 hours. The smaller vessels may fade immediately while larger vessels may get darker in color. There may be some crusting noted at the vessel site which will fade within 3 months. Sunscreen use is encouraged post treatment.
