Plastic Surgery Predictions for 2019
Posted December 26, 2018
Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston, Kaley Cuoco, and Ariel Winter are just a few of the Hollywood celebrities who have been completely honest about their plastic surgery. This is one reason that other people are now considering plastic surgery; it’s no longer considered something to hide. In fact, a survey by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) found that 67 percent of the doctors said their patients are having plastic surgery at an earlier age and are openly discussing their plastic surgery with friends and family.
What will be the most popular forms of plastic surgery in the New Year? We’ve compiled this list of plastic surgery predictions for 2019 to show the newest trends.
Popular Body Procedures
Breast reductions and labiaplasty are predicted to be two of the most requested plastic surgery procedures for 2019.
In 2019, breast augmentation will continue to be a popular cosmetic surgery, however, more and more women are opting for a smaller, more naturally shaped and positioned implant to complement their shape.
Women are having labiaplasty surgery to reshape the labia. According to one study, some women opt to have this surgery – often called feminine rejuvenation – for comfort; the excess tissue on the labia can make it difficult to do certain exercises such as running or riding a bicycle. Many women complain of pain when they wear jeans or it can be obvious in yoga pants or a bathing suit.
Fat grafting will also be a popular procedure in the upcoming year. This procedure consists of removing fat from one place in the body to add volume to another. Surges in this trend are specifically fat grafting to the face and a fat transfer to the buttocks for a more contoured shape rather than a larger shape.
Popular Face Procedures
The top plastic surgery predictions for the face include; Botox and Injectable Fillers.
Botox was approved for cosmetic uses in 2002. Since then, it has become quite popular to smooth skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles since it’s a minimally invasive plastic surgery procedure. It’s predicted to continue to be a requested plastic surgery procedure in 2019.
Dermal fillers are also growing in popularity. Plastic surgeons have successfully used lip and cheek fillers but in 2019, it’s predicted that more people will ask their plastic surgeon about using fillers to reduce under eye hollows.
Interest in lip augmentation has been growing in popularity since 2016, when they were marked as the top cosmetic procedure. Lip fillers will still be a trend in 2019 as younger woman are requesting them for larger and fuller lips, while older women are getting fillers to add volume and improve the shape of their lips.
Tear trough augmentation is a non-surgical injectable treatment for under-eye hollows and dark circles, which will also be a growing trend next year. A tear trough augmentation is used to improve the lower eyelid and cheek area. It does so by adding volume to the area. This can result in a softer, younger look and may even help lessen the dark pigment or discoloration under the eyes.
In addition, dermal fillers are being used to perform a non-surgical nose job. Nose reshaping, also called rhinoplasty, will remain one of the most requested plastic surgery procedures. However, dermal fillers can be used to reshape the nose in a simple 15-minute procedure, much faster than having a nose surgically altered.
