September 2020 Procedure of the Month: What is a Body Transformation?
Posted August 26, 2020
Body Transformation is a new term being used for any combination of procedures done at the same time, a one and done surgery to address all of a patient’s concerns at once. A Mommy Makeover is a term used to define a combination of procedures that address a woman’s body after childbirth. This generally includes a Tummy Tuck with a Breast Surgery. While it is popular among women who have had children, a combination of procedures can be done for anyone that is experiencing changes to their body such as those that occur during the natural aging process. Breasts can begin to sag or lose volume and the tummy, back and hips can develop an increase in fatty tissue that is difficult to lose with routine diet and exercise. Legs and arms can also accumulate fat and lose elasticity. Any combination of procedures done at the same time can reduce surgical costs and decrease recovery time.
The aesthetic industry is always changing as new technology is developed and surgical techniques expand. Rather than focus on one procedure, a patient can now discuss multiple areas of concern that they wish to address with their doctor. Patient safety must remain a top priority for the surgeon so the amount of procedures that can be done at one time should be done in less than 6 hours. A body transformation is done by a board-certified plastic surgeon in an accredited surgery center. The combination of procedures must be reviewed by the surgeon and considered a low-risk factor to be done all together. The combination of procedures is always at the surgeon’s discretion.
New combinations used in a Body Transformation may include Arm lifts, Brazilian Butt Lifts, Fat Transfers, and possibly non-invasive treatments such as CO2 lasers. These can be added in with a Tummy Tuck, Breast, or Liposuction procedure.
A with your surgeon allows you the opportunity to discuss your goals and desired results. After an examination, a realistic treatment plan can be determined that will safely include the procedures that can be done together to help you reach your aesthetic results.
