September Q&A: Choosing the right treatment option for you
Posted August 28, 2019
There are so many devices available to treat a variety of patient concerns, how do I know what treatment is right for me?
First and foremost, I would suggest a consultation with one of our providers to discuss your concerns and your desired results. This will give us the opportunity to examine your skin, texture, tone, and aging characteristics. It also gives us a chance to discuss your goals to provide for a better outcome. The newer devices today may be used together to accomplish better results than devices in the past. Most people require more than one modality to achieve their best results.
Aerolase Laser
The Aerolase laser targets small blood vessels, unwanted hair, sun spots, spider veins, broken capillaries, and acne as well as tightens the skin and may have some improvement with texture. This laser is used to treat the outer layer of skin leaving it feeling tighter and looking more uniform in color. There is no downtime with an Aerolase laser treatment, but the skin should stay dry and no topical creams for 2 hours post-treatment.
Vivace Fractional Microneedling RF
The Vivace Fractional Microneedling RF device combines the effectiveness of microneedling with radiofrequency to reach the deeper layer of the skin. It can be used for treatment on the face, neck, chest, and back of the hands as well as on small body areas. The Vivace helps to improve the appearance of rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and depressed scars as well as superficial pigments. The treatment also creates skin rejuvenation by stimulating collagen production. Patients are encouraged to remain makeup-free for six hours after a Vivace treatment.
Tetra Laser
The Tetra laser offers a customizable skin resurfacing treatment that can eliminate signs of aging such as wrinkles, sunspots, uneven texture, and age spots for dramatically smoother brighter, younger-looking skin. The depth or level of treatment will be determined by the provider to produce the desired skin rejuvenation. The higher level of treatment with this laser can produce a longer period of downtime for the patient but the results are more dramatic and longer-lasting than any other laser. The Tetra laser can also be used to do the CoolPeel treatment that targets just the superficial layer of skin tissue so that damaged skin is removed to reveal younger and healthier-looking skin.
Each treatment has recommendations associated with it that will be discussed during the consultation and injectable procedures should not be used for approximately 2 weeks after treatment. Optimum results require more than one treatment. Again, a consultation with one of our providers or Dr. Antimarino is the best way to determine the treatment plan that will give you the complexion results you desire.
