Should I Get Botox Before My Wedding? It’s My First Time!
Posted April 25, 2018
Skin creams, face scrubs, and moisturizer can only get you so far. And when you’re preparing for your wedding day, you want to look rested, bright, and well… fabulous! If you haven’t tried BOTOX before, scheduling a session for the first time, especially before your big day might seem stressful. However, this pre-wedding procedure may be less intimidating than you think.
What is Botox?
BOTOX is an FDA-approved injectable, that can help improve the appearance of fine lines on the face, such as on the forehead, around the mouth, and around the eyes. It works by temporarily blocking unwanted muscle action that causes wrinkles and lasts around 3-4 months.
What Does Botox Feel Like?
Each person reacts to BOTOX injections differently as we all have different pain thresholds. Some experience no pain while others feel minimal discomfort. The upside is that the procedure only takes minutes to perform, and there’s no need for anesthetic or numbing medicine because the needle is very tiny.
As for the visual results, some fear that BOTOX injections will make them look as if they can’t express themselves. However, the result is quite the opposite. Your skin may seem a little tight, but you will not have a surprised look like many fear. You should look natural and refreshed like you just had a day at the spa – every day!
What Timeframe Should I Consider?
When patients receive BOTOX injections, the results are not necessarily instantaneous. It can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks for the results to become visible. If you are considering the procedure before your big day, try it out months prior to your wedding date.
For example, schedule your first BOTOX session 6 months out to see how you like the results. Some patients require touch-ups, but you and your provider will be able to gauge what works best for your individual needs before the actual wedding.
If you decide you would like to continue with the BOTOX treatment, the next session should be scheduled 1-2 months before your wedding date. This will allow enough time for any minor bruising or swelling to heal and follow-up procedures that may be needed.
What Are Some Other Pre-Wedding Procedures?
You may want to consider other pre-wedding procedures to help you get ready for that special day. The “Bridal Blueprint” provides for numerous ways to achieve the look you want for your event, but also offer long-term benefits. Other pre-wedding plastic surgery procedures include:
- Dermal Fillers – Reduce facial lines and restore fullness to the face
- Breast Augmentation – Restore volume and shape in the breasts
- Liposuction – Contour areas resistant to diet and exercise
- Skin care – Improve sun damage or texture issues
