A Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical procedure used to add volume and contour the buttocks. A surgical allows Dr. Antimarino to examine the patient so he can determine if they are a good candidate by the availability and location of excess fatty tissue that is needed for the procedure. A discussion about the patients’ desired results is also essential so Dr. Antimarino can create a treatment plan designed to achieve those goals.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure?
A good candidate has enough fatty tissue on the body that can be removed and used for a transfer procedure. A Brazilian Butt Lift requires the patient to have excess fatty tissue that can be removed using a Liposuction cannula and transferred to areas of the buttocks to enhance the shape and volume of the buttocks. Dr. Antimarino likes to contour and shape the hips and waistline as well to further emphasize the contours and shape of the backside.
What’s the Recovery Like for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
After a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, the patient will need to make sure there is no pressure to the area for six weeks. This means there is no sitting or lying down for those six weeks. The patient may lie on their side or belly, or they can stand or kneel, but it is important to stay off of their backside.
Removing any pressure on this area allows for the fat transfer to take to the area it has been transferred to. The patient must also refrain from exercise for six weeks. The fat that is transferred must reestablish a blood supply to maintain its integrity, which is typically 70-80% of the fat that is transferred. Once the 6-week period is over, they may return to their normal activities. The results of a Brazilian Butt Lift can last forever.
