What is the difference between Microchanneling and Microneedling with Radiofrequency?
Posted March 28, 2023
Microchanneling is a superficial treatment that involves placing controlled needle channels into the skin to cause micro-injuries to increase collagen and improve the penetration of products. This treatment can be done in a spa setting as the channels are superficial with minimal depth reached. The result is less inflammation, and the treatment typically requires no numbing.
Virtue, our Microneedling with radiofrequency device, uses a handpiece with a smooth delivery of 36 vertical needles that can be set to penetrate at different depths depending upon the desired results. The microneedling is combined with heat from the radiofrequency to stimulate collagen production and address fine lines, tighten skin, and minimize the appearance of scarring and pore size. We offer different handpieces for advanced body application to smooth and tighten the skin as well as contour specific areas of the face, arms, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. Numbing cream is used for this device, and some redness with mild swelling may occur immediately after treatment, but it typically resolves within a few hours.
As with all our devices, treatments, and procedures, we encourage patients to start with a good quality skin care regimen using medical-grade products for the best results. The aging process does not stop, so to maintain results, treatments may need to be repeated each year. Genetics, lifestyle, and social habits can also affect the longevity of each treatment.
