Brow Lift

Procedure Process
& Ideal Candidates

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can restore the face’s youthful appearance and minimize the signs of aging. Forehead wrinkles, creases to the face, or the loss of elasticity can all be addressed by elevating the brow and forehead area. This procedure can also address sagging and uneven brows that give off a false impression of tiredness or emotions like anger or sadness.

There are various techniques used with a brow lift. The choice of technique depends on factors such as the patient’s anatomy, desired outcomes, and the surgeon’s preference. The endoscopic technique is the most commonly used and the one Dr. Antimarino prefers. This less invasive approach involves 5 small incisions placed above the hairline and across the hairline. The results of this procedure typically last many years.

What To Consider

Schedule Your Brow Lift Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Antimarino will walk you through a series of questions to determine your concerns, goals and expectations. Dr. Antimarino will discuss any medical conditions you may have or treatments you are going through, what medications you may be taking, and any previous surgeries. Be prepared to discuss outcomes of a brow lift procedure and have the doctor take photos of your face and brows for a more accurate evaluation.

Pre-Op Care

Depending upon a patient’s age and medical condition there may be preoperative laboratory testing required. This must be completed within 2 weeks of surgery and is typically covered by the patient’s insurance. Patients are asked to maintain their usual activity level and body weight from the time of consultation to their surgical date. Patients are required to stop smoking, vaping, and the use of nicotine patches, gum, and marijuana one month before surgery and a minimum of one month post-surgery. Patients are also required to stop using weight loss medications 2 weeks prior to their surgery. Surgery may be canceled if guidelines are not followed.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Surgery & Post-Op Care

Brow lifts are outpatient procedures. They are done under general anesthesia and may take 1 ½ – 2 hours.

Post operatively, a patient will go home with steri-strips covering their sutures at the surgical sites and a head wrap that will be removed at the first post-operative appointment, 4-5 days following surgery. These do not need to be removed by the patient. Depending on the incisions received, your surgeon will advise you on the best way to let them heal; such incisions can be expected to fade away over some time, or otherwise be easily concealed by makeup. Most patients can return to work between 1-2 weeks and may resume exercise after 3 weeks.
