Helix Laser

The Helix laser uses a powerful fusion of technology to offer patients state-of-the-art skin resurfacing. Ablative treatments can now mix with non-ablative modalities for fast, effective, amazing results using one platform.

What is a resurfacing treatment?

Laser resurfacing is an effective way to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, pre-cancerous lesions, unwanted pigment, and improve the skin’s tone and texture.

What makes the Helix different than other devices?

The Helix is the newest resurfacing tool that offers advanced fractional ablative CO2 and non-ablative technology found in one device. This allows our providers the ability to expertly tailor ablative and non-ablative resurfacing treatments.

Is the Helix a CO2 laser?

Traditionally ablative resurfacing done with a CO2 laser has always been associated with long recovery times. The CO2 fractional ablative resurfacing done with the Helix allows for short recovery times with partial restructuring of the skin, shrinking of tissue, and new collagen formation. Several sessions, which are well tolerated, may be required with immediate clinical results and short convalescence.

What is the key difference with the Helix compared to other systems?

The main difference noted to the Helix is the pulse consisting of two separate parts, the first is noted with th

e option of high peak powers that can create an opening in the dermis and a second which spreads the laser energy all around. It also offers the “SmartStack Mode,” which repeats the laser pulse in the same pattern for a maximum of 5 times before moving on to the next one. The SmartStack can be used in high-power mode producing deep ablation with a significant thermal effect. It also offers a distribution of the energy given in one pulse while still releasing the same total energy. These modes ensure even better treatment results and greater flexibility.
