Comprehensive Skin Rejuvenation
This procedure is an individualized, custom facial rejuvenation treatment done using the Aerolase LightPod Neo laser. The laser can address many of the aging issues concerning patients such as:
- large pores, skin laxity, poor skin tone
- acne
- Rosacea
- facial vessels, angiomas
- pigment spots or sun damage, melasma
- facial hair reduction
This skin rejuvenation treatment targets the face, neck and décolleté. Patients will begin to see results even after the initial course of treatment with improvement continuing throughout their series of treatments.
The procedure lasts between 30-45 minutes and is safe for all skin types, including tanned skin. Men, as well as women, may benefit from the skin rejuvenation treatment.
Expectations are discussed as well as desired results before treatment begins.
The treatment begins with the skin being cleaned using a mild soap and water. All makeup is removed prior to treatment. The procedure is most effective with thermal buildup in the tissue so there is no gel, numbing or cooling solution used. The provider uses a laser wand to make multiple passes on the skin. Patients will feel heat but should not experience pain. The heat felt under the skin is the desired result. Follow up treatments will generally use more heat as the targeted tissue structures are decreased. Communication and feedback with the provider is encouraged during treatment to provide for optimum results. Patients should not be in pain but it is important that they feel heat.
Skin Rejuvenation can be done in conjunction with a mild peel to encourage exfoliation of the top layer of skin. Laser treatments may also be done safely and effectively immediately prior to using an injectable or 2 weeks after an injectable treatment.
Sunscreen is recommended for all patients in the immediate post-treatment period. Patients are also encouraged to use a good skin care routine to maintain their treatment results. Following treatment, there may be mild redness, darkening or lightening of spots or scabbing. These skin changes should resolve within 4-5 days. Your skin will feel tight and warm after the treatment is complete. A glow will be noted throughout the next 5-7 days which will increase in duration after each treatment.
